Biography
Ruediger Glatz, born in Heidelberg, Germany, on November 17, 1975, is a distinguished photographer and artist with a versatile body of work. His artistic journey began in 1992 as a graffiti writer, and he later evolved into photography and video works.
In 1996, Glatz co-founded MONTANA-CANS, a company specializing in aerosol cans for artistic use. MONTANA-CANS is recognized up to today as one of the leading spray paint brands in the world for artistic applications. After selling the company to European Aerosols, he remained as one of its managing directors responsible for product development and marketing before shifting his focus entirely to photography and art.
Glatz has developed notable photographic series like BACKFLASHES, THE NEW BLACK, and TOMORROW AIN'T PROMISED, collaborating with eminent personalities such as Tilda Swinton, Olivier Saillard, and Adrian Falkner, also known as SMASH137. His work has gained international acclaim, with exhibitions like REFLECTING PASOLINI in Rome and ADDICTED2CLICK in Hamburg. He has also published photography books, including EMBODYING PASOLINI, CHARACTERS, and BACKFLASHES.
His commitment to the craft has been recognized since 2006, as he holds an appointed membership in the DGPh (German Society of Photography).
