KAMENICA

a portrait of chemnitz under its old sorbian name, created within the hallenkunst artist-in-residence programme as part of european capital of culture 2025, and premiered in full — in exhibition and book form — in the capital of culture year. my focus lies on the architectural and urban particularities of chemnitz: visually experienceable chroniclers of the past, documenting the city's historical and cultural change. i combined them with my own feelings and impressions, gathered on extensive walks through the city — a portrait of the cityscape in monochrome, partly abstract-painterly traits, extended by its urban soundscape.
